About Joe
Joe Henry is a contemporary artist and illustrator. With a love and speciality specifically for painting, his work is often inspired by the beauty and complexity of nature and our perceptions of the world around us, as well as our relationship with it. He grew up in North East England, and showed an early aptitude for the visual arts and overall creativity ever since his childhood. Gradually, this grew into a passion that lead to him graduating from Teesside University with a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration.
Joe has plans to continue to hone his skills, to constantly evolve and learn from others. Since graduating, he has been commissioned for a number of custom pieces for individuals and organisations.

His work
Joe’s paintings are characterised by their vibrant colour schemes and intricate juxtapositions. He uses a variety of subjects and techniques that result in works of art that are steeped in emotion and meaning. The subject matter are often comprised of nature and objects, composed with serendipity. He is constantly on the look out for new inspiration, being inspired by music and experiences from his day to day life, which he draws symbolism from to create truly unique outcomes. Art offers him a way to bring his thoughts and imagination to life, generating worlds within little pockets of oil painted canvases. It allows him to understand, process and appreciate experiences and the world around him just that little bit more.

With a growing reputation as an up-and-coming talent in the art world, Joe has exhibited his work in galleries across the United Kingdom including pieces at an exhibition at Alexandra Palace. He is now looking to expand his reach further and bring his unique vision to a wider audience. Whether it's through traditional gallery shows or online platforms, he hopes that sharing his work will bring you the same amount of joy that it brings him making it.
